Descrizione del lavoro

The basic concept of my works is to visualize social conventions, behaviour patterns and with that the transformations and changes that are shaping our societies. I base my works also on my own feelings, experiences and observations that I made in the society I live in while facing these transformations. Within this framework there are several reoccuring topics. Mainly anonymity, adjustment and exchangeability but also repetition, melting and dissolving. Since I only took pictures of one single individual to create all of the different images other central topics of my works are identity, the individual and interpersonal relationships. An important factor of my work is to keep total control of the whole process from beginning until the end. To create the pictures I work a lot with digital post-processing and a very repetitive workflow, that sometimes lasts up to a month for a single image. I usually work in series and try to develop an individual and distinctive picture language for each of the different series.
